about
TCG stands for Trading Card Game. It's not a game played with TCG cards like Magic or Pokemon; instead, the games are located on this site, and cards are the reward.
This TCG focuses on the long-running Castlevania series - including the old-school titles. I like the entire series, not just the GBA generation and beyond. If you haven't tried any of the older games, you should give them a shot!
If you are looking for a general anime, manga, and game TCG, can I recommend Trading Academy instead? There's lots of CV sets there as well. ^_^
game pacing
This is a slow-paced TCG. Don't expect to master six sets a week or to earn fifty cards from every update. I want to take it slow so I don't close (again).
However, slow doesn't mean boring or neglected. Services such as level up & mastery rewards, shop orders, doubles exchange, and so on will be handled regularly. I can't promise that I'll handle these items every day, but certainly several times a week.
game schedule & description
† weekly - Basic games that require no maintenance on my part (memory, freebies, etc).
† biweekly - Relatively simple interactive games, equivalent to weekly games on other TCGs (puzzle, warped card, etc).
† monthly - Harder games that involve extra work for you AND me! Equivalent to monthly games on other TCGs (hidden links, missing item, etc).
starter pack
When you join the game, you will receive a starter pack of cards for "free" to get you started. After that, you'll have to "earn" additional cards by playing games on the site. Try to complete a set by playing lots of games and trading with other members!
starter pack contents:
† three cards from your favorite (regular) set
† five random regular cards
† two random special cards
card types & values
There are two main card types at Loved By the Night - regular and special.
regular cards (20 per deck) - worth one
Regular cards are small and come in several flavors: game, character, and "poster". Game cards feature screenshots, while character and poster cards are puzzle pieces representing one larger illustration. There are six possible border colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.
Please note!
All puzzle decks have a decorative cross motif beside the deck name. This is a nod to the quasi-religious nature of the Castlevania games (holy water, crucifix, etc) and should not be considered an endorsement or ridicule of any kind.

special cards (10 per deck) - worth two
Special cards are larger and have a more elaborate border. The sets are grouped by themes that are explained on the card list. They are more difficult to obtain than regular cards, but they're not super-rare either. All specials have a silver border.

levels
As you collect more cards, you'll rise in level. Each level is named after a signature Castlevania creature, in roughly ascending order of power.
Level is determined by the value of the cards you have. Remember that all regular cards are worth one, and all special cards are worth two.
| card value | level # | level name |
| 1 to 50 | Level 1 | Bat |
| 51 to 100 | Level 2 | Skeleton |
| 101 to 150 | Level 3 | Zombie |
| 151 to 200 | Level 4 | Medusa Head |
| 201 to 275 | Level 5 | Fleaman |
| 276 to 350 | Level 6 | Peeping Eye |
| 351 to 425 | Level 7 | Axe Armor |
| 426 to 500 | Level 8 | Venus Weed |
| 501 to 600 | Level 9 | Succubus |
| 601 to 700 | Level 10 | Death |

You'll be rewarded when moving up a level!
level up rewards:
† three random cards
† two choice cards
† one random special card
mastering
When you collect all of the cards in a set, you are considered a master of that set. The rewards for mastering depend on the type of set - regular or special.
regular sets (20 cards):
† two random regular cards
† two choice regular cards
† one random special card
special sets (10 cards):
† three random regular cards
† two choice regular cards
† one choice special card
tokens
Some of the games will give tokens in addition to cards. These tokens can be exchanged for cards of your choice, a great help when you're trying to master a specific set! Each token is valid for cards of a specific border color as you can see below:
